    The Semester's End

As I sit here in my room at home, it is crazy to believe that the fall 2008 semester is complete.  I have checked my grades incessantly since finals were completed, and I ended up with a 3.7 for the semester.  I only had two B's; the rest were A's.  This is exciting news, since I was expecting to make a C in one of the classes.

This semester has been a good one.  During the summer, I worked band camp again and, after returning home, helped the NBHS band with their summer band.  The fall semester began with me preparing for my senior recital and final marching season with the Showband of Arkansas.  Both of our shows were good choices for the group.  This semester also made for a decision that was extremely difficult to make, but in the end, I am glad I made it.  I decided to go Alumni in Tau Beta Sigma that way I could spend more time on my studies.  Plus, there was no way I could have afforded it at all this year.  I had to take a student loan out for the first time ever this semester in order to make it through the semester.  I also needed a new laptop because my other one does not turn on anymore unless I use my mom's power cord on it.

The beginning of November was busy.  The weeks before Thanksgiving held a football game, a brass ensemble recital, on which I played F Horn, a tuba choir recital, auditions for the indoor bands (which I made 1st chair in the second band), the hearing for my senior recital, and my senior recital.  It also contained the band banquet, which was amazing.  The baritone section received the honor of being named the outstanding section.  I received my senior blanket that night as well.  I also received an honor that I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would receive.  The Brothers of the Theta Phi chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi named Allison Yarberry and me as their Sweethearts.  My Brothers are so amazing.  I love being able to help out both of the Organizations and the band in whatever way I can find.  Sometimes it is difficult due to the stress of classes, but it is fun to be able to help out when I can, and I hope that they do not hesitate to ask for any help if they need it.  I will always try my hardest to help both of the Organizations with whatever they need.

The last two weeks before finals brought four papers and tests that had to be done.  This was a lot of stress that I did not need, but it makes me appreciate Christmas break even more.  On the Monday of finals week, I took my 10 o'clock test, but my 6 o'clock was moved to Thursday due to icy weather moving into the area.  On Tuesday at 10 o'clock, I had the final for the last class I needed to take to fulfill the Spanish minor requirements .  Wednesday was spent on cleaning and packing.  Thursday, I finished the last bit of my paper for 20th Century Music and took that and the Ed Psych finals before staying the night at a friend's house.  I came home on Friday the 19th, and I am glad that I get to spend a little time at home before we begin visiting people for Christmas on Tuesday.  We will come back home Friday night because my sister has to work on Saturday.  So keep my family in your prayers as we travel, and I hope that you all have a safe and merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.  Until next time...

  • Ah, Junior I Band Camp 2008 is in session, and I am already really sore.  Oh, well.  At least I am working on getting into shape.  It would really be nice to cause some heads to turn when marching season comes back around.  I am on the floor with the New Boston girls again, and they are being really good for me.  Some of them are kinda wacky, but hey, aren't we all in our own way?

Seeing as I haven't updated since last I guess that there is just a little bit to fill in.  Brandon broke up with me May 7th a little before midnight.  So on top of the heartbreak there, May 8th was the day that my grandma on my dad's side passed away 4 years ago.  Wanna talk about some horrible timing...It made the final that I had the next morning really hard to concentrate on.  Um...what else is there?  Oh, I have started working on pieces for my senior recital in the fall.  It will probably be sometime in November, but first I have to pass the hearing, which is where the person I am playing with in the recital and I play through our recital pieces in the order we are going to play them on the recital date, so in other words, it's a mock recital.  There will be a dress rehearsal a couple of days before the actual thing, so that is good.   I was kinda wanting to go recital dress shopping right after the proms were over, but mom told me to hold off to see if I lose some weight, well, actually mass, before then.  So I don't have a dress, yet, but I am looking forward to going shopping for something girlie.  And on the shopping note, I also need to buy some dress suits and student teaching clothes because my suit that I have doesn't fit.  So anyone from my family who reads this...I need those types of clothes rather than other stuff for Christmas and my birthday.  Thanks in a lot in advance.  (Ashley, let Aunt Lisa know that I don't need any more lotion for a while...I have three almost full things of lotion.  lol)  Oh, well.  It's getting late, so I am going to bed.  Until next time...

  • It's sad that I don't update this more than I do so tonight is going to be a depressed entry night.  I'm always busy...I always have stuff going on that I could put in here, but I really can't ever remember to do so...I am getting sick...I am exhausted...I am almost to a point of completely giving up on everything...I feel unappreciated 99% of the time...I am forgetting everything that I have going on and that I have to do...Oh, well...I know that I could probably come up with more, but I am tired of being in a depressed mood because that is not in my nature.  So... Until next time...

Wow, it's been a LONG time since I've updated this thing.  There really hasn't been a lot going on.  March 18th, I was the Maid of Honor in Cari's wedding.  I'm living in Arkadelphia this summer.  I'm going to work band camp and find another job this summer.  Yay...That's about it.  My life is crazy hectic, but at the same time, it's boring.  Oh, yeah!!!  I'm going to Orlando this summer for National Convention.   That'll be fun.  Sherelyn graduates on the First of June.  I am glad that she is finally getting out of the house.  Well, I guess that's about it for now.  If I think of anything, I'll update.  Until next time...

Well, it's been a long time since I have updated this thing.  For the most part, things are ok.  I passed my Sophomore Review!!!!!!!!!!  I am so happy about that.  Brandon and I have been together for almost 6 months.  It will be 6 months on the 26th.  I really don't have a lot to say on here right now.  Hopefully, I'll update soon and I'll let everyone know what I got for Christmas.  I got a lot of cool things from Brandon's parents.  I got a really nice sweater, a make-up case, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (now all I need is books 1-4 and 7 when it comes out), and a cell phone carrier.  I got some jewelry from his grandma.

My parents got him some pans.  A quick explanation about that...Brandon and one of his housemates got in a huge fight while I was sick.  I told Brandon about how this housemate was playing his horn while I was trying to sleep.  I heard him tell one of the other housemate's girlfriend that they had been trying to get me to get up.  Let's just say, Brandon wasn't happy about that.  He went in the kitchen and started making me some ramen noodle soup and a grilled cheese on the stove.  He started trying to separate the noodles with a fork, and the housemate had a cow about it.  Brandon got mad and started throwing the stuff around.  Later on, he took all of his stuff to his room.  So now he has pans of his own.  Well, I am going to go.  I have stuff I need to do before I leave for my grandma's house.  Until next time...
